Weather conditions are affecting some schools in the area, and the power grid has taken a beating amid the snowstorm.

Here’s a list of schools with snow day delays and cancellations Tuesday:

  • Coarsegold Elementary School: CLOSED
  • Mariposa County Unified School District: CLOSED
  • Oakhurst Community College: ALL CLASSES CANCELED
  • Sierra Unified: Plan B, 2-hour Delay

The list will be updated when more schools report delays.

Snow is affecting the power grid, and PG&E reported thousands of outages Tuesday.

“The mountains received a good blanket of snow last night, and it’s affecting about 35,000 customers in area between our Yosemite to Sierra Divisions, which stretch form Madera north to Auburn,” PG&E spokesman Denny Boyles said.

Yosemite Division has 18,071 customers out in 99 different outages, with the largest outages affecting 3,275 east of Sonora, 2445 in the Twaine Harte/Miwuk area, and 2,300 in the Mariposa area, the Boyles said. The Sierra Division has 76 different outages affecting 14,918 customers with the largest outages near Somerset, Placerville, Pollock Pines and Camino.
