Quick cooling ahead

KGPE Weather

Cooler and breezy weather arrives soon in Central California.

After a high of 103 degrees Saturday afternoon, temperatures will drop into the 90s on Sunday and the 80s Monday.

Gusty winds will help usher in the cooler weather.

There is a concern that the windy weather increases wildfire risk. Conditions ahead of the cold front are quite dry.

Northern California will see showers and thunderstorms Sunday and Monday as the cold front passes. A few of these may make their way as far south as Central California, however not much will be left by the time the front arrives Monday.

Another possibility arrives Wednesday. Some computer models suggest rain for our area but the chance is slim.

Expect breezy and cooler conditions Sunday with a high of 97 degrees.

Monday and Tuesday will have highs of 83 degrees.

Expect 86 and sunny skies Wednesday. Thursday will be 81.

Temperatures warm up again going into next weekend.
