VISALIA, Calif. – The city of Visalia is once again celebrating a Cal Ripken World Series championship.
Visalia Blue defeated South Bend, Indiana on Friday night, 12-0, to win the sixth Cal Ripken World Series championship in the history of Visalia Youth Baseball.
Visalia’s Riverway Sports Park hosted the tournament, which was in Visalia for the first time since 2011.
Visalia Blue went a perfect 7-0 in this year’s Cal Ripken World Series, scoring an average of 12.4 runs per game. Sebastian Osejo, who hit .889 with 21 RBI in the tournament, was named MVP.
