Visalia Blue finishes pool play 5-0 at Cal Ripken World Series

VISALIA, Calif. – 2002. 2006. 2011, 2012, 2013. Whether it’s the ten-year-old or 12-year-old division, quite a few times has a team from Visalia been the last team standing at the Cal Ripken World Series.

And in 2011, the World Series was held in Visalia. Just like it is this year.

Two teams from the host city (Visalia Blue and Visalia Grey) have a chance to be this year’s World Series champion. But there is plenty of competition from right here in the valley.

Fresno/Bullard finished pool play with a record of 4-1 after a 20-3 win over Kennewick, WA on Tuesday.

Hanford is also in the championship bracket after a 10-0 win over Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton, MN earlier in the day.

South Bend, IN and Raynham, MA are the other two teams to qualify for the six-team championship bracket, which begins single-elimination games on Wednesday at Riverway Sports Park.
