Suns president and CEO Jason Rowley reportedly resigned from the organization following an investigation into workplace misconduct allegations that led to the ousting of former team owner Robert Sarver, ESPN’s Baxter Holmes reported Monday.
Rowley’s resignation comes less than two months after he informed a group of team employees he would not be resigning, claiming he was misrepresented in an ESPN story placing him at the center of the allegations, according to Holmes.
Monday’s news marked another seismic shift within the organization. It was reported in late December that Sarver was closing on a deal to sell ownership of the Suns and the WNBA’s Mercury to billionaire Mat Ishbia following his pledge to sell the teams. Sarver was suspended by the NBA for one year and dealt a $10 million fine after the investigation uncovered acts of racism and misogyny toward team employees.
