Remembering “Tex” Clevenger

Truman “Tex” Clevenger passed away on Saturday morning.

Clevenger, a Visalia native, was a former Fresno State pitcher who went 21-4 for the Bulldogs from 1951-53. He would go on to pitch in the major leagues for eight seasons.

Clevenger was inducted into the Fresno County Athletic Hall of Fame in 1987. In 2007, Fresno State retired his No. 18 jersey.

“Tex” Clevenger was 87 years old.
