Rawhide loses Game 1 of California League Championship series

To say the Visalia Rawhide is having a great season is an understatement.

Visalia won 83 games, as well as the first and second-half championships in the California League’s Northern Division. The Rawhide also swept San Jose in the Division Finals.

But the California League Championship series is another matter.

And Visalia is down 1-0 in the best-of-five series, after losing 5-2 at Lake Elsinore on Tuesday night.

The Rawhide actually led the game 2-0 in the fourth inning.

Game 2 of the series is Wednesday night at 6:00 pm PT in Lake Elsinore.

Visalia, which will host Game 3 on Friday night, as well as Game 4 and Game 5 over the weekend should they become necessary, has won two California League Championships in its history: 1971 and 1978.
