The Oakland Raiders are trading former first-round wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys.
In exchange for Cooper, the Silver and Black are acquiring a first-round draft pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, per multiple reports.
This marks the second time this year the Raiders have made a significant deal as the team sent all-pro pass rusher Khalil Mack to the Chicago Bears before the start of the regular season.
The Raiders are coming off their bye week and are back in action Sunday against the Colts at the Oakland Coliseum.
“It was an opportunity that I felt I couldn’t pass on,” said General Manager Reggie McKenzie. “To get a first-round pick, in this business here, I thought was invaluable. It’s something that I felt like I had to do moving forward for this organization. I love Amari… I just felt when I got a call from Stephen Jones this morning, he put it on the table, what he wanted to do, and he wanted the player, and he gave me the pick, and that’s what it came down to.”
