Fresno State women eliminated in WNIT; Bulldog softball snaps 3-game skid

FRESNO, Calif. — In a game that saw 10 ties and 13 lead changes, Fresno State came up just short against Pacific, falling 77-72 in the first round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament on Wednesday night at the Save Mart Center. Senior Candice White closed out her career with a season-high 29 points, the fifth-most points in a single game for the senior as she finished her career third on the all-time scoring list with 1,697 points.

Along with White’s game high, Maddi Utti was the only other Bulldog in double figures, scoring 15 points to go with eight rebounds. Six Tigers finished in double figures, led by Valerie Higgins’ 20 points.

Fresno State finished the season with a 19-13 overall record.
