Diamond ‘Dogs takes series opener at New Mexico; Fresno Grizzlies fall to Reno 8-4

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Scoring at least one run in eight of nine innings, the Diamond ‘Dogs kept their recent hot offense going matching their season-high in runs for a dominant 15-5 series-opening win over New Mexico at Santa Ana Star Field on Friday night.

Fresno State (18-11, 5-8 MW) smacked out 16 hits in the contest as a season-high 10 went for extra-bases. The ‘Dogs torched New Mexico (12-15-1, 6-7 MW) for a season-best seven doubles and added one triple & two home runs as a total of eight Bulldogs registered at least one hit and nine scored at least one run.
