Aaron Judge joked last week, before the start of his rehab assignment, that the Yankees don’t need him.
He hasn’t played for them since the end of April.
Without him, the Yankees are in first place in the American League East and they are getting contributions from pretty much everyone in their lineup.
But it appears Judge, the former Fresno State standout, will soon return to that lineup, likely on Friday.
It was reported after Wednesday night’s Triple-A game in Scranton, PA that Aaron Judge’s rehab assignment is over. He is expected to travel to New York on Thursday and be in the Yankees’ lineup a day later against the Houston Astros.
Judge went 0-for-2 with a walk on Wednesday night. In his five rehab games, he was 2-for-16 with one home run, two RBI and seven strikeouts.
