Woman murdered in Porterville reportedly a victim of domestic violence

An update to breaking news we first brought you earlier this evening from Porterville. Eyewitness News has just learned that investigators are classifying a murder there as a case of domestic violence.  The female victim has not been identified, and the investigation continues on the 1100 block of East Date Avenue.

A member of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office just told Eyewitness News that one of the victim’s co-workers became alarmed when she did not show up for work earlier today.  This prompted her to call authorities who went to the home.

When Deputies arrived they found the body of the female victim, and a male trying to run from the scene.  He was quickly taken into custody.

The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office continues to comb the scene for clues. Caution tape is roping off a home off of Pine Avenue, but most of the Investigative activity appears to be taking place at a second structure behind the area blocked by crime scene tape.

Investigators are now talking to neighbors to try to determine the relationship between the victim and the man found running from the crime scene.

This story will be updated.
