William Barr answers lawmakers questions

News

Attorney General William Barr is facing lawmakers for the first time since the release of Robert Mueller’s Russia report. It comes amid a heighten level of scrutiny from Democrats after reports of a rift between Mueller and Barr over his summary of the report.

Barr says he’s done his job. receiving and releasing a reacted version of Mueller’s 448 page report.

Republicans say it is time to move on. Senate Democrats say otherwise and accuse the attorney general of misleading both Congress and the public and showing favor to President Trump.

Democrats want to know why Barr concluded President Trump did not obstruct justice when Mueller did not make a definitive decision. Mueller wrote a letter Barr three days after the release saying he mischaracterized his findings.

Now Democrats want to see that entire letter from Mueller to Barr…in addtion to the entire unredacted Mueller report.

Barr has offered a less redacted report but many democrats have refused to take a look insisting on the entire thing.
