Westlands Water District to award seniors with scholarships

News

The Westlands Water District is helping students on the Valley’s west side continue their education.
For the 13th year, they are giving away scholarships to college-bound seniors.

“Our farming community is very important to us and it’s just a small gesture to give back, help those communities,” Westlands Water District Public Affairs Representative Diana Giraldo said. “Education is very important to us, we want to make sure that our students excel and hopefully come back and work on the west side as well.”

The district will award six $1,000 scholarships. To qualify, you must be a senior attending high school in Coalinga, Firebaugh, Lemoore, Mendota, Riverdale or Tranquillity. Applications are due Friday, May 10. Click here for more.
