A truck was pulled over on Saturday after the California Highway Patrol said it was carrying too much cargo in Northern California and nearly hit a freeway overpass.
At 5:50 p.m., a South Sacramento CHP officer was traveling east on Freeway 50 at 34th Street when he observed a pick-up truck traveling at freeway speeds overloaded with recyclables.
The truck, which was carrying cans and bottles, almost struck an overpass, CHP said.
The officer initiated an enforcement stop on the vehicle and instructed the driver to exit the freeway. The officer contacted the driver and ordered him to stay parked until he could off-load and transport the contents safely.
