Volunteer driving through floods rescuing people, pets


He’s not a firefighter or a member of law enforcement, just a guy who’s tired of watching the devastation impacting his neighbors in Houston, Texas.

So he’s taking matters into his own hands.

Erik Smith is driving a pickup into flood waters from Hurricane Harvey, rescuing as many people as possible.

We spoke to him live over the phone from Houston, on Eyewitness News This Morning, as a new day of rescues begins.
