Visalia man arrested for shooting at an occupied aircraft

Detectives from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Ag Crimes responded to a local Agriculture Aviation Spraying Business for the report of an aircraft being struck by a bullet while in flight. 

Detectives said they identified a 55-year-old man from Visalia after a witnesses confirmed the suspect made threats to shoot down the plane.

Detectives served a search warrant at the suspect’s residence and found evidence which resulted in the suspect’s arrest. Tulare sheriff’s said the suspect was booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Pre-Trial Facility on charges of attempt homicide, special allegation of negligent discharge of a firearm and shooting at an occupied aircraft. The suspect is currently being held on a $500,000 bail.
