Van carrying 13 people crashes in Fresno County

News

FRESNO, California (KSEE/KGPE) – A van carrying 13 people was involved in a crash with two other vehicles on Tuesday night at around 9 pm near McKinley and Brawley.

The CHP says the van, which can carry up to 15 people, was traveling Eastbound. It appears that a Lexus traveling at the rear of the van struck it from behind.

The CHP says the Lexus then traveled back into another lane before crashing into a Honda CRV.

There were 13 inside the van, 1 person had to be transported for pain.

There were 3 people inside the Honda, 2 were transported for moderate injuries.

There were 2 inside the Lexus were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The CHP says speed appears to have been a factor. They are investigating whether DUI was also a factor.
