A local husband and wife duo are trying to bring a unique coffee shop to the Valley.
“This is the entrance to our collector cave,” said John Henderson as he explained all the vintage artwork.
He and his wife, Sherease, may have your kryptonite, if you love all things superheroes.
“On the right, here some of my various comics I’ve collected over the years, to the left is some prints, a lot of autograph prints,” Henderson said.
Right now their collectables are sitting in a spare room.
“These are some of my funk pops,” he said.
But soon they hope to open, Comicoffee.
“We wanted to give like a Comic-Con feeling you know the Comic-Cons they have in San Diego but year-around,” Henderson said.
Where he and his wife said you can geek out over everything from Justice League and Avengers to Star Wars, all while fueling up on a good Cup of Joe.
“There’s nothing like it around, so we wanted to give both options,” he said.
The duo even plans to put in a cookie dough bar.
“It’s also for the family to go have dessert,” she expressed.
But, for the plumber by day and full-time mom, money, can sometimes be a super villain.
So, before the couple decides to risk all on a loan, in true comic-book fashion they decided to follow their dream and appeal to the people.
They started a crowd-funding campaign, even making this video, calling on the Central Valley to suit up and help make Comicoffee, a reality.
“We’ll be a part of the local community, we wanna bring everyone in, it’s an experience like no other” he said.
The couple hopes to open Comicoffee, some time next year, in either Fresno or Clovis.
The Henderson’s have asked if anyone would like to see the shop come to life, their Kickstarter campaign last for 60 days.
