Despite new marijuana policies and more products on the market, researchers at UC Merced say there is little research on cannabis and tobacco use in the San Joaquin Valley.

UC Merced was awarded a $3.8 million grant from the Tobacco Related Disease Research Program in June to study these issues across the region as it relates to public health and policy.

Researchers will survey, research and present policy to local lawmakers across 11 counties, from Kern to Calaveras.
