4 people injured after man opens fire inside NY Denny’s

SALINA (WSYR-TV) – Two people were shot, two others were hurt inside the Denny’s Restaurant at the corner of South Bay Road and Lawrence Road East in the Town of Salina early Sunday morning.

Onondaga County Sheriff’s deputies say it was around 4:00 a.m. when a man entered the restaurant armed with a handgun and began to accost another man before shooting him.

The suspect then began to open fire on a group of customers and employees. 

Two of the shooting victims were taken to Upstate University Hospital where they are being treated for non-life- threatening injuries. A third victim was also taken to the Upstate University Hospital for a non-shooting injury and a fourth person was hurt and treated at the scene for a minor arm injury.

Deputies say the suspect took off from the restaurant in an unknown direction.

Witnesses described the suspect as a black man in his 20’s, approximately 5’7” and 180 pounds.
