Two people are dead following a five car collision in Fresno County.

CHP were called to the area of Highway 43 and Clarkson ave Wednesday evening.

They say a Lincoln Navigator driving westbound on Clarkson ave failed to stop at a stop sign, according to CHP a big rig driving northbound on Highway 43 hit the Navigator on the driver’s side. Both vehicles then got pushed in a northwest direction.

CHP says a Honda Civic and a Jeep driving southbound on Highway 43 struck one of the vehicles; it’s unclear if the vehicle they struck was the big rig or the Lincoln Navigator.

Following that crash CHP tells us another big rig, driving northbound on Highway 43, got involved in the collision. Officials say the engine of the first big rig came out and struck the big rig driving behind it.

The two people died on scene. Two passengers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
