Two Hanford patrol cars collided into each other during a high speed chase on Highway 99 Thursday night.

Officials say around 8:40 p.m. a male suspect  was caught stealing items from a Walmart in Hanford, when confronted he started fighting with security. The suspect then fled in his vehicle, that’s when Hanford police officers gave chase and followed the suspect.

The chase started eastbound on Highway 198 then continued onto Highway 99.

Eventually the suspect lost control and crashed near Avenue 280 and Highway 99. Two Hanford police vehicles crashed into each other near the same location.

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to  Kaweah Delta Medical Center with minor injuries. The officers were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
