Two people are dead after California Highway Patrol officers said they crashed head-on just outside of Parlier.
The CHP said there were no witnesses, so they’re working to piece together what happened.
The call came in just after 8:30 p.m. Monday. Officer arrived on Mendocino Avenue about a half mile south of Manning Avenue.
The crash involved two vehicle, both with single occupants. Officers said both were wearing their seatbelts.
A Dodge truck was driven by a man and a Female was in a minivan. The vicitms have not been identified.
Officers said there’s no initial indication of drugs or alcohol.
“It looks like the Dodge pickup crossed over the center line, looks like from what we can tell so far, the Dodge was traveling northbound, the caravan was traveling south, and it looks like the Dodge pickup crossed over the lanes and went head-on with the other vehicle,” Sgt. Joseph Bianchi with the CHP said.
He said the truck appears to be a work truck for a welding company.
Bianchi said a call regarding one of the vehicles may have come in shortly before the crash. No word on who called or what they were reporting, but Bianchi said investigators will follow up on that information
