Two Arrested By Visalia Police After Reportedly Throwing Drugs From Vehicle During Chase

Suspects Were Reportedly In Stolen Vehicle

A man and a woman are in custody after allegedly throwing drugs from a stolen SUV during a pursuit by the Visalia Police Department. 29-year old Justin  Brown of Visalia, and 30-year old Elizabeth Gomez of Ivanhoe are both behind bars

Police say the incident happened early Tuesday morning when officers spotted a stolen 2014 Ford Escape on Goshen Avenue near Mooney Boulevard. The officers tried to pull the vehicle over but it failed to stop, leading officers on a chase on westbound 198.  The chase reportedly came to an end just north of Hanford.

Officers say that during the chase the occupants threw a bag containing two ounces of Methamphetamine from the window of the SUV.

Investigators say both Brown and Gomez tried to run from the scene, but were quickly taken into custody.  Brown has an outstanding warrant for ID theft.  Gomez has an outstanding traffic warrant. Both suspects were booked into jail.  No injuries or property damage occurred as a result of this incident.
