Tulare County inmate found dead in his cell

TULARE COUNTY, California - Investigators are looking into how an inmate died at Tulare County's Adult Pre-Trial Facility. The death is being ruled as suspicious.

Correctional deputies discovered the 71-year-old inmate dead in his cell around 12:40 p.m. Friday, according to a press release. Staff immediately administered first aid on the victim, but ultimately he was pronounced dead.

Details on exactly how the inmate died were not immediately available. The victim's name wasn't available, either, since family hasn't been notified.
