Donald Trump’s team reached out to the Fresno boy who was banned from wearing his “Make America Great Again” hat to school.
Not only because he can’t wear it to school, but because he can’t wear it at all after his dogs tore it up.
“I just really want another autographed hat,” says 9-year-old Logan Autry.
3rd-grader Logan Autry’s signed Donald Trump hat has seen better days.
“I left my hat on the patio,”” he says.
While swimming over the weekend his hat was destroyed.
“The dogs got to the hat,”
His step mothers dogs tore the hat up. This is the same cap that put Autry in the spotlight just last week.
He made headlines when he was asked to not wear the “Make America Great Again” cap to school.
Powers-Ginsburg Elementary officials told him it was causing too many conflicts on campus after he was being bullied for it.
“Mr. Trump heard your story,” says Autry’s step mom Angela Hoffkcnect.
Since the story aired it has been seen by people around the country and Donald Trump himself, Monday his staff gave his step mom a call and we were there when Autry found out.
“He said to tell you that not only are they going to replace that hat but they are going to send you other stuff too, they are going to mail it to us,” added Hoffkcnect.
Angela Hoffknecht says Autry deserves the recognition.
“The hat broke the story, but the hat is not the story,” she says.
Since the story aired she says they have been contacted by several people and even attorneys willing to help. She never thought the Autry’s conflict at school would get this big, but she is happy it it did.
“Logan is what made the story, Logan standing up for his beliefs and standing up for his rights to wear the hat at school,” she says.
Soon Autry’s cap will be replaced by the presumptive Republican nominee, Autry says he will be waiting for it.
“I am very excited,” he says.
