CLOVIS, California.
Residents in Clovis protected themselves against identity theft at Shredfest Saturday. Drivers lined up at the Clovis Rodeo Grounds to drop off and shred old documents and keep them from falling into the wrong hands.
About 50,000 pounds of documents are shredded at each event. In the past two years, a total of 200,000 pounds of documents have been shredded.
“Whenever you have documents, don’t throw them in the trash, store them up, bring them out here when we have these events,” said Chief Curt Fleming with the Clovis Police Department
If you missed it, the next one is November 2, at Buchanan High School.
