Clovis police and fire crews investigating, after a city storage building caught fire early Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters say, the outbuilding was up in flames when they arrived.
The building is on the same city property as one of the city’s animal shelters, off Villa avenue.
However, fire officials say thanks to help from the public, firefighters were able to get on scene, fast.
“We did get an initial call on this that was fairly quick,” Battalion Chief Anthony Gomes said. “Which allowed our crews to get here in a pretty fast manner, which allowed us to be able to just hold it to this structure here, and it didn’t go into any of the other ones.”
No one was injured.
Fire crews warn everyone to be cautious with fire, when the temperatures are in the triple digits.
