Two people are in the hospital tonight after a three-car collision on Highway 41 in Madera County.

California Highway Patrol says shortly before 3pm a pickup truck traveling northbound on HWY 41 near Road 200 decided to make a left turn into the path of two vehicles traveling southbound. CHP says there is no left turn lane in that intersection.

A Chrysler sedan in the #2 lane hit the truck first, then a GMC Yukon hit the rear of the truck.
Two people inside the Chrysler were airlifted to CRMC with major injures. The driver in the Yukon was treated at the scene and had minor injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured; he was arrested for driving under the influence.
