Suspect on the loose after stealing, crashing car from Fresno dealership

News

Fresno police are looking for a suspect who they say stole a car from a Fresno dealership.

Police say the incident started around 5 p.m. when officers got a call regarding a man acting erratically and kicking store windows on Blythe and Shaw ave.

Officials say he then crossed the street to a dealership where employees were showing a car to a family. Police say he pushed the group out of the way and jumped into the car and drove off.

Employees immediately followed the suspect. They say he then crashed the vehicle into a bark pile near Ashlan and Golden State, causing the car to erupt in flames. The suspect then fled the scene.

No one was hurt during the incident.

Police continue to search for the suspect. He is described as an African American wearing dark clothes and is possibly barefoot.

If you have any information you are urged to contact the Fresno Police Department.
