FRESNO, California.- A business on the corner of Maple Avenue and Kings Canyon Road captured surveillance video showing the fatal crash that killed a man and injured another.

In the video, you can see a Chevy Cruze traveling on Kings Canyon Road, run a red light, and hit a car directly on the driver’s side. Sparks fly as both car travel down the street.

Moments later, people rushed to the cars to see what unfolded before their eyes. Fresno police officers arrived next, followed by ambulances and fire trucks.

40-year-old Shawn Milton died on the scene. The passenger in his vehicle was taken to the hospital. Milton’s sister Charitee said she was with Shawn earlier that day for their uncle’s memorial.

“We just said goodbye to my uncle and hours later it happened to my brother,” said Charitee.

Shawn had five kids and a sixth on the way.

“His eight-year-old daughter asked me yesterday why the guy that hit her dad got to walk away and her dad didn’t,” said Charitee.

Charitee said Shawn’s youngest is still waiting for his father to come home.

Police arrested 21-year-old Gustavo Blanco for Vehicular Homicide and DUI. His bail was set for over $100,000.

A GoFundMe was created by the family to help pay for funeral expenses.
