Squirrels spark fire on Highway 180

FRESNO, California - A pair of squirrels may have started a grass fire along Highway 180 Friday afternoon, the Fresno Fire Department said.
Viewer video showed the smoke it created.
The fire broke out at the intersection of Highways 180 and 99. A couple of businesses in the area were threatened.
They weren't damaged, and no one was hurt – other than the squirrels.
"Interestingly there are two dead squirrels right over there next to the building, and it appears that the two squirrels right by the area where – there are two squirrels that got electrocuted in the wires and then fell down into the grass next to the building," Fresno Fire Battalion Chief Bob van Tassel said.
The off-ramp to Highway 99 from Highway 180 had to be shut down while crews got the fire under control. It took them about 25 minutes.
