The future of Special Olympics is in jeopardy.
Today, Education Secretary Betsy Devos will present her budget which eliminates Special Olympics to a Senate subcommittee. Hundreds of central valley Special Olympic athletes would be affected.

Devos has said she supports the work of the Special Olympics but says there are dozens of worthy nonprofits that support students and adults with disabilities that don’t get a dime of federal grant money.
A spokeswoman says Devos did donate part of her salary to the Special Olympics.
Congress has never adopted Devos‘ budgets in the past.

Special Olympics sent out this message on Twitter: We need your help NOW! Help us continue to reach nearly 3 million young people across the country. Call your Member of Congress. Ask them to sign the Dear Colleague letter supporting Special Olympics & share why Special Olympics is important to YOU  https://p2a.co/ghdK9XG
