The Fresno Police Department is providing a clarification on their investigation and arrests of members of the Fresneck gang.

During a press conference on May 24 police announced a major crackdown on the gang. Chief Jerry Dyer stated a grand jury had indicted nine of the members. He says they committed crimes like rape, kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon and other crimes. Police say two of the nine indicted were on the run, and that 30 other Fresnecks were also arrested.

Tonight Fresno police want to clarify that not everyone pictured was arrested. Police say all 34 in the image released to the media are people who were once, or still are associated with the gang. However, only 30 of the 34 people shown were actually arrested.

Police say Fawn Dehmel, Ashley Brown and Shanae Castro were never taken into custody during the gang sweep. They are not being sought by police.

Those indicted and arrested include Joie Carrell, Benjamin Horton, Jessie Rosner, John Poytress, Timothy Vassar, Wesley Vassar, and Ashley Willis.
