Skateboarder killed in hit and run identified

FRESNO, California – The man who was killed in a weekend hit and run while he was riding a skateboard has been identified.

Fresno County Coroner’s Office said 31-year-old Michael Sampedro was the victim of Sunday’s crash near Ashlan and Cedar in Fresno.

Police said the alleged driver, 56-year-old Susan Chenot, fled the scene and was tracked down at her home. She was booked into Fresno County Jail on charges of vehicular manslaughter without negligence and possession of a controlled substance.

Investigators are still trying to determine who was at fault in the incident.
