The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of an inmate at Fresno County Jail on Friday.

Francisco Abel Delarosa, 38, of Fowler, was booked into the jail on Thursday for being a wanted parolee, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Around 2 a.m., Delarosa was inside a holding cell waiting for his bed assignment when he experienced a medical emergency, the Sheriff’s Office. Correctional officers immediately tended to him while waiting for an ambulance to respond to the jail.

EMS personnel transported Delarosa to Community Regional Medical Center where he later died.

The cause of his death should be known following an autopsy and toxicology tests.
