Sal Cerrillo’s 1970 Chevelle is not the usual choice for a low rider project.
“If it was a two door I would have done it Street rod or muscle car style.”
The vehicle’s previous owner had a scary accident that had her put it up for sale.
“It was all wrecked. An old lady from Oakhurst used to own it. It went down a cliff and a rock stopped it from going all the way down.”
Cerrillo says the car was a typical father-son project.
“We cut the sunroof out ourselves. Custom made it.”
Cerrillo is the vice president of his own car club, Primos. He wants to see cruising in Fresno make a comeback to its glory days.
“It used to be there on Kings Canyon. We want to make it bring out the business on Fulton. We have a great time out here. Nothing major goes on. Just a place to relax and enjoy your Sunday evening cruising.”
