It’s an extra challenge to the already busy travel day the rain and slick roads are triggering crashes all around the valley.
On highway 41 and Tulare firefighters and CHP are on scene of an accident.
A corvette slid across the highway hitting a tree. Officials say this single vehicle crash is weather related.
The crash happened just before 6 p.m. According to CHP the driver was going too fast and lost control.
The driver was taken to the hospital, they say he was able to get out and walk around.
CHP says this is a good reminder to slow down and adjust to different weather conditions.
“What happens when it rains is the oil comes up off the surface, that has been dry for a while, so the oil comes up, everyone is traveling out of town. We’ve been driving cars that haven’t had any water on them for a while, so they just have to get used to what’s going on”, said Sgt. Edward Jacobs with CHP.
This is one of several crashes that happened tonight around Fresno.
