Porterville man arrested for sexually abusing children

A Porterville man was arrested on Friday, March 22, for indecent exposure. Porterville police said they arrested 69-year-old Geronimo Filbert Sierra.

Police said It was reported that he exposed himself to a 10-year-old girl. Police said his bail was set at $50,000 and he posted bond for release.

Police said on Friday, March 29, 2019, Geronimo was again arrested based on an allegation that he sexually assaulted a 6-year-old boy, in 2002.  

Police say the allegations were first reported in 2016 and based on evidence uncovered since he was arrested and booked on the above-noted charges. He is being held on $1,000,000 bail.

Police said Sierra is a registered sex offender, with convictions of attempted rape and indecent exposure, both of juveniles, dating back to the year 1991. 

Police believe there may be other victims of Sierra, who have not come forward.
