Poor air quality prompts school closures in Oakhurst

Firefighters made progress overnight on the Mission Fire in Madera County.

Officials report the fire is 25% contained, over 1,000 acres have burned. The Mission and nearby Railroad Fire are affecting air quality in the area.

Mandatory evacuation orders remain in place for Cascadel Woods, an advisory evacuation is in place for Benedict Meadow.

Due to poor air quality, several schools in Oakhurst are closed Thursday including: Yosemite High, Alternative Schools North, and John Muir North.

Joe Moeller reports from North Fork.
