Fresno police have a concerned citizen to thank in the arrest of a man with a loaded handgun.

Marcos Amezcua, 22, of Fresno is accused of carrying a concealed loaded firearm in public, said Fresno Police.

According to Fresno Police, a citizen contacted an officer at 12:24 p.m. in the area of Marks and Belmont on Monday. The citizen said he saw a suspicious suspect that he thought might be tagging or putting graffiti on a railroad crossing arm. The officer saw Amezcua and found a loaded firearm on him while doing a safety check for weapons.

The officer safely took the weapon and arrested Amezcua, said police officials. He was booked into the Fresno County Jail.

Fresno Police reminds the public that anyone can call Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP with information. Information that leads to firearm related arrests may offer a $500 reward.
