FRESNO, California (KGPE) – One man has been arrested after Fresno Police say he fired shots into the air, leading officers to a honey oil lab and marijuana grow on the property.

Dispatch received the call Monday around 6:45 p.m. about a man firing a gun into the air outside a home in the area of E. Donner and E. Indianapolis Avenues in Fresno. Officers arrived, formed a perimeter around the property, and detained everyone inside. A witness confirmed that the man seen firing the shots was among the four people detained.

“I was told that he was involved in a domestic with his girlfriend,” said Lt. Charlie Chamalbide.

“They were arguing. It didn’t get physical but they were arguing. He got angry and came outside and fired the gun at that time.”

Officers say they recovered shell casings and expended rounds outside the home, but did not find the gun used. When they checked the house, they found a honey oil lab and several hundred marijuana plants in the back yard.

As well as the man who reportedly fired the shots, the other three people detained by officers were his mother, his girlfriend, and a small child.

“The child has free access to that room, so we’re definitely going to look into the possibility of child endangerment charges,” added Lt. Chamalbide.

No injuries were reported.
