Police on the Hunt for Double Homicide Suspect in Woodward Lake

FRESNO, Calif. - We now know the names of the two men, who were shot and killed Thursday night in the Woodward Lake neighborhood of north Fresno. The Fresno County Coroner's Office, has identified them as 21-year old Brennen Fairhead and 21-year old Scott Gaffney, both of Fresno.

The shooting happened just after 8pm near Fort Washington Road and Champlain Drive, more specifically Chickadee Court and Grouse Run. Police are on the hunt for the shooters, while neighbors question, how did this happen?

Some recall the frightening aftermath of a double murder.

Laura Lopez stated, "All of a sudden, I heard the pops, and at first I thought it was firecrackers, but it's a little bit of a different sound."

Lopez said she immediately peeked out her window.

"That's when I saw a shadow, somebody run by, that was it," commented Lopez.

Fresno Police said a black man and a white man were shot by a third person, who was with them. Chief Jerry Dyer said the three visited or frequented a residence in the area.

Neighbor Rod Algier said, "These people, we probably see them walking around, you know, kids young adults, just walking around, so you never know who they are."

Some residents we spoke to said they don't know exactly which house the men allegedly visited. Algier is thinking about keeping his concealed weapons on him when he walks around the area.

"Well, it's better to be safe, cuz you never know," ended Algier.

A candlelight vigil is expected to be held on Friday night where the victims were shot.
