Police Investigate Morning Shooting

Fresno Police is investigating a shooting that left a 26-year-old man injured Monday morning.

According to a statement, officers were called out to an apartment complex on the 2200 block of N. Marks Avenue at 8:18 A.M.. When officers arrived, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to his left hand.

According to the statement, the victim claimed he was walking to a convenience store in the area of Marks and Clinton Avenues when he was accosted by the suspect. Police said according to the victim, the suspect had a handgun and demanded money. The victim, according to police, put his hands in the air, and the suspect allegedly fired the weapon once.

The suspect, described by police as a man of unknown race and wearing a black hoodie, reportedly fled on foot.

The victim, according to police, claims he cannot identify the suspect. Police said the victim was taken to CRMC, in stable condition.
