A movie theater in Hanford was robbed by a former employee, according to police.
On February 3rd the Hanford Police Department received a call from an employee at the Metro 4 Theater in downtown Hanford regarding a robbery.
They say around 1:30 p.m. a man entered the theater and demanded money; the suspect indicated he had a gun but never showed it. Police say he took an undetermined amount of cash.
According to police the suspect knew several details about the theater, the general public wouldn’t know–causing current employees and law enforcement to think the suspect was a former employee.
Police identified the suspect as 26-year-old Anthony Martinez, a former employee of the movie theater.
Hanford police say he was already in custody at the Kings County Jail on a separate charge. An additional charge of robbery was added.
