A group of foreign exchange students are nursing some bruises after a paintball attack in Clovis. It happened Sunday at noon in the area of Nees and Minnewawa. There were a group of about 12 international students gathered at the corner when they say men in a silver vehicle drove by shooting paintballs at them. Four students were injured and police want to know who is responsible.
“Across the street over there we passed over here and we were standing. I was standing like this and my friends they were here. They came from down there and they head that way, but I could just here them shoot and the girls scream,” said Lucas a student from Denmark.
You can still find the casings of paintballs fired at a collection of international students on Sunday afternoon. The students were standing at the corner of Nees and Minnewawa near the football stadium at Buchanan High School.
Lucas wasn’t hit, but four of his friends were.
“It makes me feel kind of scared to walk around in the streets,” said Lucas.
Lisa Book hosts some of the international students at her home in Clovis.
“I mean this is a hard plastic it’s very hard. I mean they explode and hit your body. It left awful black and blue welts on my student’s legs and stomach,” said Book.
Clovis Police responded, but due to a lack of information about the suspects haven’t been able to find the people responsible. Investigators need tips and Book says she won’t rest until she finds out who did this.
“They know how bad that hurts and they basically assaulted my students and I’m out to get them. I hope that we can find them,” said Book.
Investigators are hoping someone can come forward with information. You can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 498-STOP.
