A family in Oakhurst had a close encounter with a young black bear who was on a mission to get some food on Wednesday.
Tricia Tracy and her husband woke up to let their dogs outside and was quickly alerted of an unexpected guest.
“Our little dog started screaming, and we were like ‘Oh gosh. Something is in our yard,” Tracy said.
Tracy told Your Central Valley that the furry bear knocked down several feeders which were located in her yard for birds and squirrels.
“Hungry bear. He was there for breakfast time, right on time,” she said.
Tracy posted these videos on the Oakhurst area Facebook page trying to alert her other neighbors in the area.
According to California Fish and Wildlife, as the temperatures warm up the bears come out of hibernation and it’s common to see these unique creatures searching for food.
As for Tracy, she’s now making sure her bird food is put away, so she doesn’t have another close encounter
