Ninja takeover at Tioga Sequoia in downtown Fresno

News

A downtown Fresno beer spot changed it up Saturday night — ninja style.

The Hella Ninja event at Tioga Sequoia Brewing Company’s Beer Garden was an expansion of the ninja pop-up event during Fulton Street’s re-opening last year.

From the food to other fun activities — everything was ninja themed. The event featured a new Hella Ninja craft rice beer, nunchaku churros and a shogun cheese wheel that was heated and sliced with a sword.

The event also had a ninja themed art show, throwing star range and featured a three-hour Wu-Tang Clan DJ set.

Organizers said they want downtown to be the go-to place for fun in Fresno.

“Businesses like Central Fish, Thrift Demon and Tioga started collaborating and bought into one theme and made a cool theme party. [Those partnerships] are going to be key,” said Sam Hansen, creative director for the Fresno Grizzlies.

Hansen adds they plan to have more Hella Ninja events in the future with new elements each time.
