ModBox: A tiny home, business you can move anywhere

A new business is now open in Clovis. But there’s a twist… it can move and be placed anywhere.

This restaurant in Clovis is actually a recycled shipping container they’ve transformed into a bar.

“First one is BBQ box its an open bar complex. The whole side opens up with a motor it’s fully insulated, you can close it up and house your mother-in-law for the weekend. If you’d like open it up for weddings, tailgating, a lot of exciting things you can do with it,” said founders and operators of ModBox Stacey Borchardt and Rob Hutchinson.

They created it by using a recycled shipping container.

“We had seen container homes on other platforms and we know there were containers out here we thought why not clovis we have a lot of land here we thought why not build one here,” said Hutchinson.

Their goals are pretty big…make this concept a home.

“I want to fill that gap between the tiny house and the incredibly expensive homes in our area. Think about the college students I think about my mother was trying to raise kids on a single income. As long as you’re paying rent you wont ever get out of that,” he added.

Bringing a future into focus for the greater good.
